Fighting cavities?

Fighting cavities? Not so sure on that one. Brody tends to horse around during teeth brushing time. I didn't get my first cavity until my late 20s and even then I felt like I should get a second opinion on the diagnosis. It was just a fleck of a cavity...only required a tiny little filling! Hopefully, Brody will get the hang of it and have shiny pearly whites that are cavity free! Here's to good oral hygiene.

Happy Birthday Ellen!

Ellen turns 50 today so I thought I'd say Happy Birthday. I love her show and think she is a wonderful person who does a lot of really wonderful things for people. Brody loves to dance during the dance segment every day and even Danny will admit to liking the show. It just makes you feel good! So Happy Birthday Ellen! Have a great one!

Potty Time!

I'm sure it's a lot like Hammer Time (MC Hammer...get it...is my audience too young...too old??)... anyhoo... Brody used the potty for the first time today! Go Brody! Sources say his dad was potty trained at 7 months...so Brody's got a lot of catching up to do!!!

Tattle Tale

I fear that my sweet child (see above) is going to be a tattle tale. You know what I’m talking about…the kid that is always ratting out his friends. Last night, Brody told me repeatedly that “C did it” (C being a friend from day care). “C did it” “C did it”….over and over again. Every time I asked him anything that was the response I received. He showed me his book that has a big chunk eaten out of it (yes, he eats books). He became obsessed with getting through to me that “C” had eaten that portion of the book. Seeing as how “C” has never been to our house and there is in fact someone in our house that eats books, I am pretty sure “C didn’t do it.” Even this morning on the way to school he told me “C did it.” Did what I wonder!?!!

Duck Duck...Chipmunk

Saturday we had a nice visit with Yaya and Papa Jim, who had the great idea to go down and feed the ducks at one of the ponds near our house! Brody loved it!! However, absentminded Mom forgot the camera so we didn't catch Brody's first duck encounter on film. So, today I took him for a second go around with the ducks that I personally find just a bit too aggressive. He rode his bike to the pond....well actually I pushed him on his bike and he just sat there looking pretty! See...

In any event, we made it to the pond and fed the ducks. Brody got a real kick out of it. He didn't particularly care for the duck that nipped at his little finger, but other than that had good time. See...

Then, seeing as how this only took about 30 minutes and I had an entire day to fill with the wee one...I decided to branch out and take him to see his first movie. After nap time, we loaded up and headed to the mall to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. Popcorn was consumed in mas quantity and he did really well, dancing during the singing and screaming at all the appropriate times (?). He only asked to go home once but then ended up falling for the "want some more popcorn" line and we made until The End!

p.s. This movie is not an Oscar contender by any means, but if you are an Arrested Development fan, "Tobias" is one of the funnier characters in this flick!

The Elephant in the Room

Brody's current obsession is Elephants. Oh the enthesium with which he says the word Elephant. Ironically, I come from Alabama where my family leaned toward the proper side of the college rivalry line and rooted for the Crimson Tide and Big Al (the elephant mascot). In fact, Brody's name came from the Alabama quarterback, Brodie Croyle. I lost out on the "how are we gonna spell it a battle" ... but that's okay. Brody is a name that suits him to a tee!
So for this week, we worship the elephants...until we move on to something else....

New Beginnings

So, I totally said I would never be a blogger. I have just been sitting back enjoying what all of you have to say....lurking on people's blogs that I don't even know...getting so wrapped up in what others have going on. Ann-Marie, ever on the cutting edge, has talked me into starting my own blog...so here we are. I have to give credit for my initial set up to Danny .... all this without a help desk ticket (he's an MIS manager and that's code talk I reckon). It might take me a while to get the hang of this and find the time. My sweet little two year old is all of two ... and keeps me hopping!
