Sea World

We decided to renew our annual Sea World passes this year and enjoyed a great day (all day) at the park first with our neighbors and later met up with Ann-Marie, Rob and Cooper! A great time was had by all. Cooper put the smack down on Brody and he is still talking about it today!

Old Friends...New Friends

We enjoyed a nice visit with Michelle and her youngest boy yesterday! Michelle and I go way back to the days of high school and even though we don't see each other very often, it seems like no time has lapsed when we do get together. High School was tough for both of us because we were transfer students from other states. Fortunately somehow or the other, our parents bought homes on the same street and Michelle saw my sorry butt standing at the bus stop every day and offered to drive me to school. We have been friends since. I love you Michelle and treasure our friendship!

The boys had a great time too and before the visit was over they were both running around like chickens with their heads cut off!

Visit with Santa

Santa paid the kids a visit today at school! Brody asked for a book. Sweet...

What the Heck...

Because Brody has been unable to master forward momentum on his new bike, the decision was made to conquer Mt. Mailbox this afternoon in full bicycle gear. Totally scaled that bad boy!

As for the title of this post; that's Brody's new favorite saying which clearly is a sign that we have been watching our language! :)

Roll Tide...not so much

Yaya and Papa Jim came for a visit yesterday to watch the Alabama/Florida game....at least it wasn't a blow out. A good time was had by all even with the disappointing final score.

ICE ICE BABY!!

We had a nICE afternoon with Nana, Pop Pop and Aunt Bobby today visiting ICE at the Gaylord Palms Resort. It was brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........cold and we turned pink according to Brody! Brody was a trooper and stood in line to go down the ice slide with Mommy and then sang Row Row Row Your Boat on his way down. It only slightly held up the line! The pictures are a bit blurry but that is what happens when technology meets 9 degrees! brrrrr.....! :)

Gobble Gobble!

It is not even noon and I have already scorched the h-e-double hockey sticks out of my arm. Where's the gauzaparra when you need it? Ann-Marie, can you bring some over..I know you must have some!?

We are puppy sitting our sweet cousin Haley for a few days and Brody is in heaven. Haley doesn't seem bothered by the antics....so far! Don't get in ideas Brody...we are NOT getting a dog. You have two cats that you ignore on a daily basis!

Pumpkin Patch

Brody spent this morning hanging out just being cute and then visiting the pumpkin patch. We also decided on a Halloween costume, but we'll keep it a surprise. He was playing with it this afternoon, but it has brought on some less than favorable behavior, so it was put away until Dia de las Brujas!

Diagnosis: Ain't Nothin' Much Wrong

I left work early today to tend to a sick boy....apparently I picked up the wrong kid! We did go see the doctor and Brody promptly announced to anyone that would listen "I not sick anymore." He actually does have a virus of some sort and is on antibiotics now...but as you can see, it hasn't slowed down the silliness!

Can you say N.A.P.

Here's why you should nap if you are still of napin' age...

because you will fall asleep while eating ice cream (WHAT! I know you are squirming at this one Ann-Marie...how could my offspring do such a thing!)

because you will fall asleep while you are drinking milk...

because you will pass out at 7:00 p.m. on the couch and miss America's Funniest Home Videos. As long as you sleep through the night...I'm okay with this...but if I'm up at 4:00 a.m.; we are gonna need to have a chat! :)

Is it wrong...

Is it wrong to send my kid out begging for candy in the same outfit he wore last year? Suzanne, Ann-Marie, Hope, Jenn, Laurie...any other veteran moms...what's your take on this because just between us girls...these costumes seem like a big waste o' money! Here we are last year as a "Monkey"...

and today we have run around as a "Bobo Monkey" ALL DAY long...hello, it's hot as H-E-double hockey sticks here...(it's 6:45 p.m. and he is currently running around fully dressed as a Bobo).

He says he wants to be a Bobo Monkey this year...think I can get away with it!!??

Party All the Time!

A grand time was had by all at Cooper's first birthday party. Little Coop dove right into his monkey cake and went bananas! We also enjoyed a day with Elmo on Sunday with the boys. Brody had fun even though he wouldn't sit with the boys!

Not a Baby Anymore....

Brody has told me on several occasions over the past few weeks that he is not a baby anymore...sigh... He was just moved to the "big boy class" at school and so now he all about being a big boy. A few nights ago he catapulted himself out of his crib for the first time and simply refused to get back in it (holy cow we had a few really bad nights). We decided it was time for the big boy bed ... and a trip to PB Kids. BTW...he totally loves my selection!! Here's his new big boy room. He insisted that the bed have him name on it so I made a sign...which he ripped off and ate a portion of, hence the jagged edges! We had a rough first go at the whole big boy bed the first night...but the second and third night...no problems at all! Indeed, he's not a baby anymore...sigh again...

Cupcake and New Kicks Saturday

It was cupcake Saturday at our house today! Brody is totally going to be a Top Chef! I'm sorry to report that one of us didn't eat our dinner so they didn't get to eat any cupcakes (and no, it wasn't me...my motto is: you never know where your next meal is coming from so eat up...clink clink of the silver ice cream spoon--that's for you AMB). We also got the kid some new kicks today and he went crazy over them!

You got pizza?

A sure sign that you order way too much pizza is when your child asks the man standing at the door waiting to be let in to give us an estimate on some drywall work..."you got pizza?" Brody's perplexed as to why we aren't currently consuming triangles of cheese. Go figure!

NO Floaties!

While watching the Olympics, Brody is quick to point out that Michael Phelps needs no floaties. Brody on the other hand, needs floaties!

On a side note, our new favorite thing to do is "hold our balls" while going potty. Nice...wonder how taught him that one?

20 years...say it ain't so...

Danny and I spent this past weekend reconnecting with old friends from high school at our 20th High School Reunion. We both graduated from MIHS in 1988 so it was great fun for both of us at the reunion because we both knew people. Now everyone is trying to stay connected through Facebook which is driving me nuts because I don't know how to use it yet b/c I am old (hello, TWENTIETH reunion...for crying out loud). In any event, we had loads of fun and here's a snap shot of us all gussied up for your viewing pleasure.

Yee Haw Po-Boy!

We are all better after three days of ickiness. By Saturday we were 95% back to normal and today...all's clear! Yee Haw Po Boy (favorite new phrase which we believe is actually "Yee Haw Cowboy")!

102.5 never looked so cute...

One of the characters in the above picture woke up at 2 in the morning (yelling "I want my Mommy") with a fever of 102.5 and has continued to have a fever pretty much all day. Despite his jaundice glow, Ernie is not the one with the fever (I can't even tell you how long it took to get all Brody's "friends" lined up just so in order to get this picture..."no, you sit next to Cookie, Ernie." "No, you sit next to Elmo, Cookie." ... and on and on). Poor little man Brody is not feeling well today. We did run to the doctor today and for the low low price of around $120 they told us there was basically nothing wrong with him and to just keep giving him liquids and the famous Tylenol/Motrin cocktail. Lucky for him it's Happy Hour all day today so he's cashin' in on the drink special!
